Hey Tribe, Hey!

We're a week into March and I hope that this month has been good to you thus far. One of my goals with In The Tribe is to educate you on the many ways herbs are used. This month, I'm inspired to talk about another one of my favorite herbs...EUCALYPTUS!!!

Eucalyptus is a fast-growing evergreen tree native to Australia. It can be used as an antiseptic, perfume, flavoring, in dental preparations, and to reduce symptoms of coughs, colds, and congestion. It is also used in creams and ointments aimed at relieving muscle and joint pain.

There are over 400 different species of eucalyptus. However, Eucalyptus globulus, also known as Blue Gum, is the main source of eucalyptus oil used globally. It is created by steam distilling the leaves to extract the oil, which is a colorless liquid with a strong, sweet, and woody scent.

The health benefits and uses of eucalyptus include:
